Malaysia’s Department of Environment (DoE) has approved another reclamation project in the Johor Strait. It had earlier approved the Forest City, an ambitious project of four giant man-made islands off Tuas near the Second Link, while this is for the Princess Cove luxury home project.
The Princess Cove project involves extending the Johor Bahru shoreline which includes two land reclamations on both sides of the causeway spanning 31.7ha. Its developer, Hong Kong listed Guangzhou R & F Properties, had obtained the land title in November 2013 and started on construction since April 2014.
However, the project came to a grinding halt in June 2014 as it is understood that a detailed environment impact assessment (DEIA) report and hydraulic studies were required due to its proximity to Singapore border.
With such progression of approvals on reclamation projects so near Singapore, Malaysia is offering a new lifestyle choice to investors besides Iskandar Malaysia.
